When they cried foul loudly enough in community forums and Discord channels, risking reputational harm to the ecosystem and the companies behind it, the organizations did respond. If a shipped tool was broken at a basic level, teams jumped to fix it to avoid the optics. But the default mode was reactive, not curious. Developers were expected to adopt whatever technology was thrown at them regardless of their existing needs. Proactive discovery of what would actually help them build better apps almost never happened.
